Group Therapy

Group therapy provides a confidential environment to learn more about ourselves and our relationships. During the course of our lives, we are bound to find ourselves in relationships that are dissatisfying. This may include having difficulty making close relationships, experiencing anxiety in social situations, feeling misunderstood/rejected, or struggling to communicate one's thoughts, feelings, and needs. Group therapy is one of the most effective treatments for interpersonal difficulties and offers you a low-risk place to work on new ways of acting, interacting, and reacting. People who participate in group therapy benefit from opportunities to relate emotionally with others and to feel support within a communal context.

Types of groups I and my colleague, Dr. Leslie LaFleur might offer:

  • mindfulness & resilience
  • overcoming social anxiety
  • interpersonal learning
  • stress management
  • men's and women's issues
  • LGBTQIA+ support
  • people in recovery
  • naturalization & citizen support for professionals from different lands
  • "The Breakfast Club:" a group for women finding strength to face social and political strife in our world
